Journeys of Hope Continue
While 2021 has had its challenges, it has also been a successful and fulfilling year at Mountain Valley Horse Rescue!
As you can see, Robin’s Nest – MVHR’s new Barn & Arena – is well under construction, with completion expected spring 2022. The Rhea Bigelow Charitable Trust is providing full support for this incredible project. This new facility will assure year-round equine training and new program opportunities, all of which will allow MVHR to help even more horses for decades to come!
In 2021,19 more horses, donkeys and ponies were adopted to new forever homes, continuing their Journeys of Hope. And MVHR welcomed 29 more to the Ranch!
However, the economic hardship caused by the pandemic also continues, and our waitlist hovers at over 40 equines in need.
Watch our latest video to learn what’s been happening at the Rescue in 2021 and to follow the rehabilitation journeys of two horses – Nova and Cali.

You may recall Nova in last year’s video. He came to MVHR with feet in terrible shape. His initial journey to MVHR required six inches to be trimmed from his hooves on the spot. Thanks to his care at MVHR, Nova is now under saddle and looking for his forever home. In the meantime, Nova’s care is underwritten by a generous MVHR supporter.
Cali is a beautiful 6-year-old Thoroughbred, who arrived in 2021 with little training. Her kind eye and smart, athletic nature make her so willing to learn new things; she is already working well under saddle. Cali is an excellent prospect for an adopter with the experience to continue her training.
As we come to the end of 2021, if you have not made your year-end donation to MVHR, now is the time. You will help to ensure that MVHR can meet the unique needs of each and every horse that comes to MVHR in 2022, as we were able to do for Nova and Cali in 2021. If you have already made a donation to support the Rescue Herd – THANK YOU!
Please stay in touch, donate today if you can, and spread the word about the work of Mountain Valley Horse Rescue.
Peace, Health and Prosperity to you in 2022, and THANK YOU for your support!
