MVHR Vision, Mission & Values
MVHR Mission
Mountain Valley Horse Rescue’s (MVHR) mission is to rehabilitate and rehome equines in need, while working to reduce the cases of unwanted equines through education and outreach.
MVHR Vision
MVHR envisions a world in which there are no unwanted equines or equines in need, and all equines are loved and cared for throughout their lives.
MVHR Values
RESPECT
Every equine is cared for, valued and respected as an individual.
Every person with whom MVHR interacts is respected and valued as an individual.
COMMUNITY
MVHR actively participates in and contributes to our broader communities.
MVHR supports the Western farming, ranching, cultural and historic roots of our communities.
EDUCATION
We value our unique position to be able to teach to and connect people with equine welfare, care issues, and skills.
PARTNERSHIP
We offer lifetime consultation for adopters of our equines and we will always take back an equine who has been adopted from MVHR.
STEWARDSHIP
The welfare and needs of each equine are first and foremost.
The land in our care will be managed with the intention of long term improvement and sustainability.
MVHR rescued its first horses in 2004, and became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2005.
