Colorado Gives Day is December 7th!

Today, there are an estimated 170,000 unwanted horses across the nation, and 6,000 in Colorado alone. Of these, approximately 130,000 horses are shipped to slaughter in Mexico and Canada each year, where they are processed for human consumption. In addition, the BLM rounds up over 9,000 wild horses off public lands annually, but only 1 in 3 find homes.

Since 2004, Mountain Valley Horse Rescue has helped hundreds of equines in need find homes with loving owners thanks to people like YOU. At $6,000 per year for the basic care of each equine, your support provides much needed food, medicine, shelter and training, which leads to more successful adoptions. With each adoption, we are able to bring another equine into the fold to start his or her journey to a better life! 

Colorado Gives Day takes place on December 7th this year and is the largest day of philanthropic giving in Colorado. Last year, we raised almost $50,000 on Colorado Gives Day because of you. With up to 30 Rescues in our care at any given time and a never-ending waitlist, these funds were critical to our day-to-day operations in 2021.
