Our Programs: Sponsors, Scholarships and Special Donations in 2019
Sponsors supported Chanel, Maddie, Ginger, Latigo, Stardust, Cekka, George, Amber and Gabby the Mule. Each Sponsor provided at least $5,000 per horse – the annual average cost for care. For Maddie and Ginger, even more.
Maddie nearly perished this past year from colic, followed by a displacement of part of her intestine, into a space in her abdomen. Her Sponsors stepped forward, providing thousands of dollars for multiple surgeries to correct this life-threatening condition. Maddie is recovering well at the Rescue now thanks to her Sponsors, the Vet Crew, and MVHR’s Staff and Volunteers. Thank you, all!
Ginger has navicular syndrome, and her Sponsor provided the needed funds for surgery in October to assure Ginger’s improved comfort. This beautiful mare is also recuperating well.
And, in addition to support from local businesses and our High School Rescue Club, there were several very special gifts. Thanks to Sally, a member of the MVHR High School Rescue Club, Kitchen Collage donated a generous portion of their winter holiday sales. D. Jensen Electrics, along with several individual donors, helped by providing Scholarship Funds for Summer Day Camp.
Responsibility, Empowerment, Stewardship, Perseverance, Empathy, Cooperation, Trust – that’s R.E.S.P.E.C.T., the core values that underscore the lessons, fun, equine care, riding and teamwork that are all a part of youth programs at MVHR. The generosity of scholarship donors made it possible for 10 additional children to participate whose families couldn’t afford the full cost.
We are grateful for all of our Sponsors, Scholarships and Special Donors!
