The Ranch: Progress in 2019 - Thanks to You
Thanks to you, we have much to brag about. MVHR’s 115 acres on the Colorado River have been managed well in 2019: there is water for irrigation and thirsty horses, training space (limited, but busy), shelter enclosures and fencing for herd management and safety, electricity and heat to keep the water treatment system from freezing, and the ATV’s are kept running.
To deliver services, house and train equines, develop our volunteer base, and ensure that MVHR’s staff has critical resources, our donors, in-kind providers, the volunteer maintenance team, and volunteer craftspeople accomplished the following:
a Pasture Management Plan and irrigation improvements
the purchase of a large horse trailer
delivery of donated hay to the Ranch on donated trucks and flatbed trailers
better footing in the round pen and training arena
warming curtains in the cabin
refinishing and repainting of the cabin and deck
fortifying walls and doors for the quarantine stalls and barn
ATV and manure spreader maintenance
And of course, the Stackyard is done!
There are always more projects to tackle, but - with your help - we are taking good care of the home to our horses, ponies, donkeys and mules.
